A la découverte du Morbihan !

Sightseeing

Like Brittany, Morbihan is a land steeped in history and gastronomy, also renowned for its Atlantic coasts and Gulf of Morbihan.

Whether you enjoy watersports, relaxing at the beach, hiking, history or seafood, there’s something for everyone in Morbihan!

Here are a few ideas to give you a taste of what’s to come!

Kerhillio Plage

Beach lovers and watersports enthusiasts won’t have to go far! Just 800 m from the campsite there’s a great spot for board sports like sand yachting, kitesurfing and swimming as well as hiking paths. Discover the fine sand beach offering a stunning view over the Quiberon peninsula and Belle-île-en-mer.

Etel Estuary

Discover this sandbar in perpetual motion at the mouth of the ria, 4 km from the campsite.

A décor that changes with the tides but each one is more stunning than the last.

Saint Cado

Take a tour of this adorable little island located 9 km from the campsite.  You can take a walk around the island via the bridge.  Don’t miss the famous house of Nichtarguer with its blue shutters, the one on the postcards.  Whilst you are wandering around, you’ll come across the pretty 11th century chapel, a fountain and a calvary.

Carnac

This coastal town located 10 km from the campsite is steeped in history.  Visit the famous standing stones and learn about the local legends.

Don’t forget to stop by the prehistory museum.

Quiberon

Quiberon peninsula is located 19km from the campsite and can be reached by the train which runs between Plouharnel and Quiberon.

For surf lovers, the peninsula is one of the most beautiful spots in Brittany offering both a wild coast setting and large fine sandy beaches.

Food lovers will enjoy tasting Breton delicacies in the numerous local restaurants.

Quiberon is also the departure point for boat trips to the islands, Belle-Ile-en-mer, Houat and Hoëdic.  Daily departures in peak season.

Lorient – Island of Groix

Discover the Eric Tabarly sailing museum located 28 km from the campsite and visit the German submarine base built during the second world war.

You can also catch a ferry to the island of Groix from Lorient.

Vannes

Visit Vannes, a fortified, medieval town located 34 km from the campsite.  The ramparts shelter a perfectly preserved historic centre.

The town is also popular with foodies who will be in their element trying the many restaurants, from creperies to gourmet restaurants.  Don’t forget to pop into the undercover market where the fish, seafood and shellfish will make your mouth water.

You can also catch a ferry to the islands in the Gulf of Morbihan.  Daily crossings in peak season to Ile aux Moines and Ile d’Arz.
